Site Map In 1998, I decided to go on a hunt to locate some of my ancestors graves. I never knew anything about my father or his family and this trail to cemeteries started about 3 years after I started my trek down the genealogy path. Shirlley and I decided to go ahead and add this service to our business after receiving a couple of requests that we were able to fill. This has led to some very interesting cemeteries, locations and have met some very interesting and very nice people along the way. Our rates for this type of work is $35.00 per roll of film. We can keep our rates low by adding your request to one of our get-away weekends. If however, you decide that you do not wish to wait, then we can do the job but the rates will be at the standard industry service rates including travel costs. Generally, once we receive a request, we try to fill that request within three months. Fees are not paid until we do the work. If a stone is basically very hard to read, we will write down the information and include it on the back of the photo.
The stone at left is that for Henry Basden and Catherine Hanson, my great grandparents. They are buried in Worthen Cemetery in Murphysboro, IL. The two stones in the front in the photo on the right are the graves of Thomas G. Etherton and Jennie Jane Lipe. They are buried in Etherton Cemetery south of Murphysboro, IL. Thomas and Jennie are the grandparents of Catherine Hanson.
The image on the left does not do justice to the original photo. She has the most cutest expression on her face here.
On December 29, 1999 my daughter, Julie, gave birth to my first granddaughter. Jennifer, my oldest daughter had given birth to my first grandson, Nathan back in March. I hadn't been able to get up to Ft. Lewis Wa, where Julie is stationed until Aug. On August 18th, Shirlley and I got on a train and headed up to the great northwest. Shirlley took the images above. Jordan is the sweetest little girl I have ever seen. She took to Grandpa instantly and vice versa, as if I needed to mention that. It tore my heart to leave and have to come back home. Julie is headed to Heidelberg, Germany where she will spend the next three years. Her husband, Scott and "Sweetpea" are going with her. She has to report in by Dec 20. The above photos are of me, Julie and little Jordan. I hope to have some updated images on Nathan up on my site here later this week. He is getting to be something else! He is a smart little one and growing like a weed!
